Green tea was also able to kill cancer cells in the mouth. In a study published in Molecular Nutrition and Food Research, the researchers studied cells of normal human mouth along with the cells of the human oral cancer to determine how epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), which affects the cancer cells differ from normal cells.

Oral cancer cells grown in normal cells and cancer cells exposed then it could be reduced thanks to the content of EGCG found in green tea. EGCC is usually found in the saliva of a person after consume green tea.

The study leader, Professor Joshua Lambert from Pennsylvania State University, said the research team will examine again the content of tea by studying mechanisms in animals to determine whether tea can be used to dispel this cancer.

"If successful human trials, the researchers then hope to make anti-cancer treatments are effective as current treatment without the harmful side effects," Lambert said as quoted by Medindia.
